As soon as I received the sheet set, I washed it and put it on the bed. I was so pleased at how soft it felt and what a great fit it was for a pillow top mattress. However, within 2weeks, I noticed little "pills" on the mattres sheet. After washing again, the "pills" were still there and the sheets now have a scratchy feel to them. I am very disappointed.

These sheets are acceptable, April 13, 2008 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: 400-Thread-Count Cotton Sateen Queen Sheet Set, Taupe (Kitchen) for an inexpensive price. I bought them under the stress of needing any sheets for a guest in a new bed that we'd just bought. They are smooth, but seem to wrinkle a lot. They were difficult for me to put on the mattress because it is a platform bed frame and the 360 degree elastic on the fitted sheet was hard to get on while holding up the mattress from the frame. I also have to mark the bottom of these sheets in permanent marker so that I can always tell which part goes where. They have held up well so far, but it hasn't been long since I got them. The guest said they were okay to sleep on. The pillow cases fit snugly and seem to be soft - but I don't sleep on them because they aren't on my bed. For $19 for the set, it's a good buy. I'm not too crazy about the "taupe" color because it looks a little too brassy.

It's interesting but with Egyptian cotton entering the market and higher thread counts, expect wrinkles. I saw that when I gave them the "wash" test. It is inevitable. The stitching on this set of sheets is excellent so I did not have to be concerned about unraveling. The feel is comfortable and in line with 400 thread count sheets. The sateen gives it a sheen that is nice. So far it is not "pilly" or whatever the word is for disgusting lumps that form on fabric. The fit on the mattress is very good with depth that can accommodate deeper mattresses. The size is perfect. The pillowcases are not to tight and not too loose with great stitching. Color is just color. You are buying off the internet. I am happy with my color. Looks like the photo ~sage.
